MIDNIGHT MADNESS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 31

The first chance to meet the 2013-14 edition of the UMPI Men's and Women's Basketball teams will be this Thursday, October 31, when Student-Activities and UMPI Athletics sponsors Midnight Madness 2013.

Among the Basketball Festivities will be a Costume Contest, Tailgate Party, Free T-shirts, Door Prize, Music and plenty of fun for all attendees.

Wieden Hall doors open at 6:30pm, but the excitement starts at 5:30pm with the UMPI Baseball Program offering Tailgate style foods outside on the patio of Wieden Hall.  The first 100 entrants will receive free Midnight Madness T-shirts and door prizes will be awarded throughout the night.

Celebrating Halloween, President Linda Schott and her family will be among our special guest judges for the costume contest that will reward the best costume and the costume with the best/most UMPI school spirit.  Also up for grabs is a student resident hall pizza party!

Master of Ceremonies and all-around UMPI ambassador Josh MacKinnon will get things started in the Wieden Hall gym at 7pm.  The Women's Basketball Team will be introduced first, with a shooting competition and short scrimmage planned.

The Men will scrimmage as well, followed by the 2013 Amato's Midnight Madness Dunk Contest.  Special guest judges for the Amato's Midnight Madness Dunk Contest include President Schott, Jim Casciano and new UMPI Vice President for Administration and Finance, Marty Parsons.
