OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – University of Maine – Presque Isle senior center Patrick Manifold (Great Yarmouth, United Kingdom) has been named the Association of Division III Independents men's basketball Player of the Week. He averaged 25 points and 10.3 rebounds per game as the Owls went 1-2 on the week. In an 81-65 win over Fisher College on Sunday, he posted 31 points on 10-of-16 shooting (62.5%) and snagged 12 rebounds. He also went 11-of-14 (78.6%) from the charity stripe, which is up from his season average of 57%. Earlier in the week he added 24 points and 10 rebounds against Maine-Machias. He now has six double-doubles this season. On the week, he shot 25-of-43 from the floor, good for a 58.1 percentage.
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – University of Maine – Presque Isle junior guard Olivia McNally (Sherman, Maine) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women's basketball Player of the Week. McNally helped lead the Owls to a 2-1 week by averaging 10.1 points per game on 52% shooting from the floor. She also averaged 6.2 rebounds per game including her first 11-rebound game. On the week, McNally had 13 assists compared to just three turnovers. Her best performance came on Sunday in a 77-66 win over Fisher College, where she neared a triple-double with 18 points (8-of-13 FG), nine assists, and eight rebounds.
