(Auburn, ME) -- Junior Danielle McCusker shot 70% from three point range and dropped 32 to lead Central Maine Community College past the UMPI Owls. The Owls' showed their youth at times throughout the game, though senior guard Emily Pelletier (Sr./Fort Kent, Me) tried to keep the Owls in it with 16 pts and 3-5 from three point distance.
The Owls' fall to 0-7 on the season, while the CMCC Mustangs improved to 13-2.
The pressure defence of the Mustangs' took the Owls' out of their comfort zone early, causing 20 turnovers. Yet, the Owls' played hard even when down and tried their best to stay in the game. Olivia McNally (Jr./Sherman, Me) had a strong showing for the Owls' finishing the game with 7pts, 8 reb, and 3 assists.
The Owls' were once again forced to play with a short bench with Amanda Hotham (Fr./Fort Fairfeild, Me) sidelined this time. The Owls' hope to have everyone healthy for the second half of the season.
The Owls' will go for their first win when Eastern Maine Community College travels to Presque Isle on Dec. 15 for a 7:30pm game.
