Owls Compete in Nationals

The University of Maine at Presque Isle men and women's Nordic ski team competed in the USCSA Nationals on the 10th and 11th of March. The three Owls skiers competed in the 7.5km Freestyle race on the 10th and the Classic Sprint on the 11th.

The men's team brought one skier to nationals, Conner Nilsen (Fy. Waukesha, WI) who finished 25th in the 7.5km freestyle. Nilsen finished with a time of 25:17.2 in the race. Nilsen also finished 17th out of the 60 racers in the Classic sprint.

Both Kassandra Nelson (Fy. Portage Lake, ME) and Leinani Farnsworth (So. Portland, ME) represented the Owls on the women's side of the Nordic Ski team. Nelson led the Owls in the 7.5km Freestyle with a 31st place finish and a time of 31:59.5. Farnsworth was close behind finishing in 37th place with a time of 32:50.8. Farnsworth then led the way in the Classic Sprint with a 26th place finish while Nelson was right behind her, finishing in 27th place of the 43 racers.
