Women's Ski Wins Owls Invitational - UMPI Gets Two First Place Finishes

Presque Isle, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Men's and Women's Ski team hosted their 5K Freestyle Race at the Nordic Heritage Center vs U-Maine at Farmington and Citizens. Conner Nilson (FY. Waukesha, WI) finished first overall with a time of 15:26. Kassandra Nelson (FY. Portage Lake, ME) Finished first of the women skiers, and ninth overall with a time of 18:04, leading the Owls to a four point win over Farmington.

Leinani Farnsworth (So. Portland, ME) was the second Women's skier to finish for the collegiate racers, overall tenth place with a time of 20:57, giving UMPI the win. Joel Soper (FY. Livermore, ME) finished with a time of 21:45 and an 11th place finish in his first ski race.

The Top three racers for the Men's collegiate racers were, Conner Nilson, Isaiah Reid, and Connor Marland.

The top three racers for the Women collegiate racers were, Kassandra Nelson, Leinani Farnsworth, and Mullein Francis.

The top finishers of the men citizen racers were, Jason Bartley finishing third overall, Connor Hrynuk finishing either overall. Hannah Streinz was the solo women's citizen racer, finishing in fourth overall.

The Owls will next head to Chittenden, VT to race in the Castleton Invite on February 1st and 2nd.
