Presque Isle, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle is proud to announce an incoming softball recruit. Jennifer Ruesch out of Delavan, WI will be attending UMPI the fall of 2021 and has committed to play softball for the Owls. Ruesch is currently finishing her senior year at Delavan – Darien High School.
Jennifer played many positions throughout her four years in high school, playing all over the field, as a centerfielder, shortstop and catcher. Thus, proving her talent level on the field, in having the ability to play three of the major positions in softball, where leadership and talent is needed.
"I am excited to play for Coach Edwards and meet the team in person! The team has spoken to me throughout the time I was being recruited, making my decision to choose UMPI easier." Said Ruesch, about her future teammates and coach. Jennifer plans to major in Secondary Education.
High school coach, Hank Johnson, always influenced her attitude and effort on the softball field. Ruesch's favorite quote from Coach Johnson, "A winner is the person who gets up more times than she was knocked down."
The Owls Softball Family and The University of Maine at Presque Isle look forward to welcoming Jennifer to Campus in August.
