Owls Finish Second in ACAA Tournament

Canton, NY—The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls took on Finlandia College Lions in the ACAA Championship game.  The Lions would beat the Owls 5-2 to become the ACAA Champions.

In the first inning, Emily Nguyen singled up the middle to give the Lions a one-point lead early.  In the defensive battle, Roni Shaw (Payette, ID) broke the Owls drought with a single to left field to bring pinch runner Hailey Davenport (Chicago, IL) home.

Nguyen would continue her big game in the fifth with a three RBI triple in the fifth, giving Finlandia a three-point lead.  Makenna Lloyd followed with a ground out to bring Nguyen home.

A double by Marissa Reagle (Seattle, WA) was not enough in the seventh as the Owls fall to the Lions 5-2.

Four of the Owls players would be rewarded with their tournament performances. P Sara Packard (St. Albans, ME), OF Jackie Peers (Limestone, ME), DP Alexis Allcock (Madison Heights, VA), IF Melanee Terry (Moreno Valley, CA) all made the ACAA All-Tournament Team.
