Sweet Briar, Virginia – Despite 19 hits by the Presque Isle hitters, the Sweet Briar Vixen took a doubleheader from the visiting Owls 9-2 and 11-3.

Game One: Sweet Briar 9 Presque Isle 2

Vixen starter Megan Thompson allowed ten hits, but the Owls could only break through twice to tally runs.  The Owls also committed 5 errors which did not help the Blue & Gold's cause.

The Sophomore trio of Amanda Allen, Shannon Brown and Katie Patenaude each collected 2-hits a piece and classmate Taylor Cochran knocked in the only earned run.

Game Two: Sweet Briar 11 Presque Isle 3

Through the third inning, the Vixen had built a 7-0 lead.  The Owls mounted a comeback in the top of the fourth inning, using run scoring hits from Katie Patenaude and Whitney Donovan to close the vixen advantage to 7-3.

The Owls could not manage to solve Sweet Briar starter Molly Langford after the 4th inning rally and Langford would go on to record her second win on the season by mowing down the Presque Isle squad in the remaining three innings.
