Owls Cross Country Team finishes 5th at Maine Maritime

Belfast, ME - Presque Isle closed up the pack time on Saturday at the Mariner's Invitational held at Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast, site of many regional and state championship high school meets.  The Owls finished in the fifth spot with 112 points behind U-Maine at Farmington (49), MMA (55), Husson University (55), and Thomas College (75) and ahead of Unity College (168) and Central Maine Community College (206). 

The finish order tor the UMPI team over the five kilometer distance was  Nino Manzella (So.Queensbury, NY), (17th, 18:53), Kyle Davis (So. Addison, ME), (21st, 19:28), Andrew Hunt (Sr. Peterborough, NH), (24th, 19:59), Hunter Dionne (Fr. Raymond, ME), (28th, 20:14), Devon Maynard (Fr. Perham, ME), (41st, 21:46), and Sean Miller (Jr. Eureka, CA) in his debut race (43rd, 22:15).  The race was a precursor for the NAC Championships which will be held on October 28 over the eight kilometer distance. 

The UMPI squad will have their first test of the year at that distance at the Pop Crowell Invitational at Gordon College in Wenham, MA on September 22nd.
