Men's Cross Country
The addition of three strong runners and a relative newcomer will be key to the success of the U-Maine at Presque Isle's men's cross country contingent this fall. Under the direction of 32nd year head coach Chris Smith, senior Andrew Hunt (Peterborough, NH) is coming off a very strong steeplechase performance at last spring's NAC track and field championship meet where he finished in fourth place.
Kyle Davis (sophomore, Addison, ME) is entering his second year, and experience with the collegiate distance sets him up well for improvement. Newcomers include sophomore Nino Manzella (sophomore, Queensville, NY), a Nordic skier by trade as well as a strong distance man. Hunter Dionne (freshman, Raymond, ME) and Devon Maynard (freshman, Perham, ME) will likely be the two rounding out initial scoring for the Owls, making for a solid five men overall. Sean Miller (Presque Isle, ME) is new to the sport but has untapped potential who will add some depth.
The men will be initially tested over six kilometers at the UMPI Invitational on September 1 as they work to move up in the NAC championship meet from their eighth of 11 team finish in 2017.
