Owls at Bowdoin

BRUNSWICK, ME - The UMPI men's team effort was hampered on Saturday due to illness and injury.  First year runner Danny Gillotti (FR, Ludlow, ME) was unable to start the race due to illness and Andrew Hunt (JR, Bennington, NH) was forced to drop out just prior to the four mile mark due to a recurring leg injury.  The balance of the Owls contingent all ran well and showed marked improvement.

Freshman Kyle Davis (Addison, ME) toured the course at 31:57, showing a distinct improvement over his high school senior year's best performances.  His time placed him 58th in the 89 man field.  Senior Saul Nunez (Mapleton, ME) improved to32:45 and 63rd place while Jesse Gonzalez (FR, Othello, WA) was in 68th  position at 33:31.

The Owls will be returning to Bowdoin in two weeks to run an identical course, as they take part in the Maine State Championships on October 14th.
