On the men's side, the graduation of last year's North Atlantic Conference Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year and All-Conference runner, Sully Jackson, leave the Owls with ground to make up.
Freshmen Jesse Gonzalez, Kyle Davis, and Danny Gillotti will be the three contributing the the Owls' cause. Gonzalez is out of Othello, WA and has a strong background in both cross country and track. He looks forward to the challenge of the 8K distance. Davis (Addison, ME) has shown early season improvements over last year with pre-season milestones above previous years' performance indicators. Gillotti (Ludlow, ME) is new to the cross country scene and shows strong indications of being able to contribute with a strong training ethic and willingness to work. Returners Saul Nunez (Mapleton, ME) and Andrew Hunt (Bennington, NH) will contribute the leadership to the younger, less experienced collegiate runners. Senior runner Nunez will be working to attend USCAA nationals for the fourth time and Junior year Hunt for his third. The 5K test or the men on September 2 will set the benchmark that will dictate training over the next two weeks.
