Men's Cross Country Finishes Seventh

Brunswick, ME – The Owls finished seventh in Bowdoin College's second meet of the season.  The host Polar Bears were the meet winners with the low score of 21 points, and were followed by Wentworth College, The University of Southern Maine, Endicott College, U-Maine Farmington, Maine Maritime Academy, Husson University, and then the Owls.

The conspicuous absence of top harriers Sully Jackson and Jake Welch hampered the overall team effort, but strong individual performances by six runners showed improvement over last week's race at Johnson State.

Trevor Levesque's (Presque Isle, ME) strong off-season training showed as he dipped below the 30 minute mark for the 8K course, hitting 29:48, good for 48th position.  Andrew Hunt (Bennington, NH) ran to 72nd place in 32:48 with Saul Nunez (Peresque Isle, ME) close behind (73rd, 30:01).  Scoring was rounded out by Terry Reidy (Presque Isle, ME) in 81st (35:18), and Justin Lopez of Lincolnville, ME (86th, 36:27).  James Churchill improved to 38:36 (89th), 55 seconds better than his performance at the NAC championship course preview at Johnson State last week.

The Owls are off next week for Homecoming Weekend before traveling to Standish for the St. Joseph's of Maine Runnin' Monks Invitational.
