General comments:

This was a very fast course in both terrain and quality of field.  The atmosphere was electric as the 280 starters toed the line.  Grylka got out to a fast 5:36 mile start and settled in to a sub-17 minute three mile split, ultimately finishing in 88th position (29:09).  The men ran two long loops of woods and open trails, coming back to the start area at the midway point, a psychological boost to all runners.  Philip Boody, coming back from an injury hampering his training volume, improved his time over the previous week on the longer course.  The trio of Garrett Hilton, Corey Hebert, and Tyler Hilton closed the final two miles solidly after running strategically through the first three.  These three will be key to the Owls' national championship aspirations.  Aiden Bothwell brought his time down markedly, finishing at 37:45 in 253rd position.

Coach Chris Smith's comments:

"I saw good things in Hebert and the Hiltons today.  They are a tight three who are able to key off each other in training to bring their times down and to move the team up in meet results.  With Grylka and Boody establishing the first two scoring spots these guys, along with support from Richard Landry and Casey Dorrity, will ultimately determine our success."

Next week:  At the St. Joseph's College Runnin' Monks Invitational.
