Tim Chase  62nd 40:40
Richard Landry  66th 43:34
Zach Abbotoni 73rd 50:52

Comments: Conditions were very good with firm footing throughout. Temps were in the high 70s but the trails were in woods and relatively good. Philip ran the forst four miles as a tempo run to work on more proper pacing and to rest a bit heading into the week leading up to the state meet. He still finished within one minute of his personal best time on a course tougher than the one he set his best mark on. Richard, Zach, and Tim continue to round into shape as they gained valuable experience. Tim bettered his last weeks time by 60 seconds.

UMPI Women's Results:

Kati Christoffel 18th 23:01
Emily Wright 27th 24:06
Molly Lindsey 29th 24:24
Sarah Taylor 53rd 29:12
Leanne Abbott 62nd 33:19

Comments: Conditions were very good with firm footing throughout. Temps were in the high 70s but the trails were in woods and relatively good. Kati got out quickly in setting her in strong position at the mile mark, passing in 7:14. She handled the second mile in 7:36 before matching this time for her third mile, the toughest mile by far. She closed the last tenth in only 35 seconds. Emily tempoed the first two miles due to a minor injury, passing through mile two at 15:27 with Molly at her side. The two worked together for these two opening miles before Emily picked the pace up as the injury felt OK. Molly ran strongly over the last 1.1 miles to finish in a personal best time of 24:24. Sarah and Leanne continue to gain experience for the 5K distance over this deceivingly difficult course.

Next week: Maine State Championships at Pineland, hosted by Bates College.
