Entering his 27th year as the men's head soccer coach, Alan Gordon brings a great deal of experience and enthusiasm to the Owls squad.
Coach Gordon and the Owls are looking to improve on a 4-13-1 2016 campaign that was plagued with injuries and featured many young players. The Owls did show off what they are capable of and the future of the program with key wins over Wheelock, Unity, and Hampshire. A strong incoming class and the return of many key players have the Owls looking forward to the 2017 season.
Coach Gordon has enjoyed much success during his tenure. While at the helm of the program he has had the pleasure of coaching nummerous All-Coference, All-District, and All-Americans, and ten players that have been inducted into the UMPI Hall of Fame. Coach Gordon has receivied Coach of the Year honors three times in his career. He also had the pleasure of coaching Women's Basketball at UMPI for ten years.
As a 1987 UMPI graduate, Coach Gordon is a memeber of the UMPI Hall of Fame himself as a player. He also went on to Ithaca College where he earned his Masters in Physical Education. Coach Gordon also serves as the Compliance Officer for Athletics, as well as being a Professor in the Physical Education Department.
