Presque Isle, ME – The UMPI Owls men's soccer team hosted North Atlantic Conference opponent Husson University in a mid-week East match. The Eagles took the win, 5-0 moving them to 3-0-1 in the conference while UMPI drops to 0-5 in the NAC.
The Eagles gained control of the ball early with some shots on goal. The rain effected some of the early shots by both teams, although the Eagles were able to score their first goal in the 24th minute. Another goal in the 28th minute gave them a 2-0 lead as the teams soon went into halftime.
The second half the Eagles continued their goal scoring with a goal in the 56th minute. Then following with back-to-back goals in the 83rd and the 84th minute. Keith Mank (Raymond, ME) was in goal for the Owls finishing with seven saves on 12 shots.
The Owls will host their second home game in a row with a match up vs University of Maine at Fort Kent. Kick off on Sunday October 3 at 1:00PM.
