Bangor, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls men's soccer team played in their final regular season game of the 2019 season. UMPI would lose the match 6-1 to North Atlantic Conference opponent Husson University.
The Eagles put the pressure on UMPI early with goal in the 13th minute on their second shot attempt. With a total of 11 shots in the first half the Eagles put one more in the back of the net. Husson continued to control the ball in the second with two more goals early in the half.
In the 73rd minute Jonah Hudson (Fy. Presque Isle, ME) put UMPI on the scoreboard off of a pass by William Bridges (Fy. Presque Isle, ME), as the score now sat a 4-1. Just a couple minutes later the Eagles answered with two more goals before time expired.
Nathan Barnett (Fy. Bangor, ME) got his first start and fought hard in the goal for the Owls as he finished the game with ten saves. The Owls regular season record ends at 6-9 while finishing 1-7 in the NAC. Husson advances to 6-12 and 5-3 in the NAC.
