Boston, MA –The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls men's soccer team traveled to Boston to play Fisher College this Sunday afternoon. The Falcons would come away with a 3-1 victory.
The first 30 minutes of the match went back and forth, with the Owls having one shot on goal to the Falcons three. The Falcons would then break the scoring drought with a goal by Leonardo Mildor in the 33:39 minute mark. Vishal Vaswani followed with another first half goal for the Falcons in the 37thminute.
The Falcons would keep the foot on the gas with goal in the 59thminute by Andree Molina, giving Fisher a 3-0 lead. The Owls continued to fight back with a late Penalty Kick goal by Andre Rossignol (So. Van Buren, ME) in the 87thminute, ending the Owls scoring drought on the day.
Nathan Barnett (Fy. Bangor, ME) stared in goal, earning three before suffering from an injury. Keith Mank (Fy. Raymond, ME) came in to finish the game, finishing with five saves on the games. The Owls ended the game with 11 shots, six of which were on goal.
This brings the Owls to 1-1 record on the season as they head to Maine Machias on Wednesday September 11that 2:00pm. The Owls home opener conference match-up will follow, Saturday the 14thvs. U-Maine at Farmington.
