Presque Isle, ME - Parker Thompson of the University of Maine at Presque Isle's Men's Soccer Team was recently named to the North Atlantic Conference Sportsmanship Team for the 2018 season. Thompson, who is a junior "Back" on the Owls team is from Washburn, Maine, was one of eight players selected to the Sportsmanship Team.
"Parker is in his third year as a member of the UMPI men's soccer team and is the ultimate teammate," stated Head Coach Alan Gordon. "He is an outstanding role model both on and of the field with his positive attitude and strong work ethic. His enthusiasm and passion for the game is inspirational and has earned the respect of his fellow teammates and peers."
Other NAC Awards released included Billy Shannon of MMA as Coach of the Year, junior Matthew Caron of MMA was named Player of the Year, freshman Kyle Patterson from Thomas College - Rookie of the Year, senior Joshua Reeks of MMA - Defensive Player of the Year, and senior Tod Ghanayen of Husson University - Scholar Athlete of the Year.
