Fisher Defends Home Turf Against Owls

MEDFORD, MA – The Maine Presque Isle Owls (2-7) had a rematch with the Fisher Falcons (3-5) and the two teams will split the season series after the Owls dropped a 4-1 decision.

Earlier in the season UMPI won an evenly matched game by a final score of 1-0 at home.  Sunday proved to be a much different story.  The Falcons would outshoot their visitors 17-3 in the first half, dominating possession and leading them to a 2-0 lead at intermission.

The Owls cut that lead in half early in the second half.  Jacob Worthley (FR, Houlton, ME) would find Cody Blair (JR, Ashland, ME) who would net the goal.  Fisher would answer back just three minutes later and put the game out of reach in the 68th minute, to take the 4-1 victory.

Matt Manter (SR, Caribou, ME) would tally 15 saves in the game.

The Owls will try to snap a three game losing streak on Saturday when they return home for Homecoming weekend.  Unity College will be in town as UMPI tries to avenge a 3-1 loss on the road from earlier this season.  That game is scheduled to start at 2 pm.
