Owls Can't Convert, Shut Out in Home Loss

PRESQUE ISLE – In a rematch from earlier this season, the Owls turned in a similar result, losing a 2-0 decision to the Machias Clippers.

The Owls started off the game with opportunities that they weren't able to convert on.  The Clippers would put some pressure on the host team as well, and were able to find to find the net in the 36th minute.  Jairo Ulises-Castillo (SO, Brownsville, TX) was credited with the goal.  Machias would out shoot the Owls nine to seven in the first half, and lead 1-0 at the break.  The Owls would turn the tables in the second half, with ten shots to the Clippers five.  Despite the constant pressure, Maine Machias' keeper Robert Devone (FR, Corona, CA) stayed strong, recording six saves in the game.  Ulises-Castillo would extend the lead by converting a penalty kick.  Maine Presque Isle would be shut out for the fifth time this season and drop to 1-7 on the year.

The Owls will return to action on Friday as they host Saint Joseph's.  Game time is scheduled for 2 PM.
