Presque Isle, Maine - The UMPI Owls outshot the visiting Golden Eagles from Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) 37-6, en route to a 10-0 victory Sunday afternoon.  Freshmen Nick Whitehead and Marc Reynolds each had two goals for the Owls and Whitehead added an assist on a goal scored by senior Ryan Van Buskirk, who also registered two assists for the match.

Freshman Erik Gumaer took over the team lead in assists by adding two helpers and a second half goal at 59:50 to make the score 7-0.  Brandon Bonney scored his second goal of the season on one of Gumaers assists.

The Owls leading goal scorer, Derek Healy notched his 13th goal on the season and added an assist on Whitehead's second goal of the year and the first of his two on the day.

Tallying their first goals of the season, senior captain Aaron Hutchins and Kevin Carranza capped the scoring within 3 minutes of each other, Hutchings came at 63:13 and Carranza at 66:12.

The Owls next play Fisher College, Saturday, October 19 in a scheduled Men's/Women's doubleheader.  The Women's match begins at noon, with the Men's match to follow.  The doubleheader will be the last regular season action at home for the UMPI soccer programs and the day has been designated as Seniors Day.
