Bangor, ME – The Owls golf team traveled to Bangor, Maine to compete in the Husson Invitational. The teams competed at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course, a par 71, 6,315 yard course. Husson University won their home match with an impressive team score of -4, while winning the individual medalist was Husson's Chris Kauppila with a 69.
Dawson Watson (Fort Fairfield, ME) once again led the Owls to both a team low and a personal low score. Watson finished with a 76, just five over with three birdies and eight pars through 18 holes. Watson's score along with the others led the Owls to a season low team score of 345.
Matt Randall (Sioux Falls, SD) scored second for the Owls, +11 with an 82 despite bogeying the last three holes. Payton Jones (Green Cover Spring, FL) scored an 87 with an impressive 38 on the back nine. Timothy Burns (Green Cover Spring, FL) rounded out the scorer for UMPI with a 100.
The Owls will travel to play in the Colby College match at Waterville Country Club, where they will play a Ryder Cup style format with different foursome style play.
