Owls Host Annual UMPI Golf Invitational

Mars Hill, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls golf team hosted their annual UMPI Invitational, this year playing at Mars Hill Country Club. The Owls hosted North Atlantic Conference opponents Husson University and Maine Maritime Academy. Husson's own Chris Kauppila led all with an impressive 70 on the tough par 72 course. Husson also won the even as a team scoring 303 for their top four scorers. MMA finished with a score of 357 while the Owls scored 364.

First Year Matt Randall (Sioux Falls, SD) led the Owls with an 83 in his first college match, finishing fifth overall. Dawson Watson (Fort Fairfield, ME) finished right behind with an 84 and a sixth place finish. Timothy Burns (Green Cove Springs, FL) scored a 98 through the 18 holes, while Payton Jones (Green Cove Springs, FL) and Jacob Mondor (Hebron, ME) finished with a 99. Joey Lippo (Coupeville, WA) finished with a 111.

The Owls will head down to Waterville Country Club next weekend to play in back to back matches. Full results at Owls.umpi.edu.
