Men's Golf Brings in 2021 Recruit

Presque Isle, ME – University of Maine Presque Isle Golf Coach Gavin Kane is pleased to announce that Matt Randall from Sioux Falls, South Dakota has enrolled at UMPI and will be joining the Owls Golf Team for the 2021-22 year.

Randall will be in the Business Management Program at UMPI with a concentration in Recreation. "My career aspirations are to become the Head Golf Pro at a golf course, become a Golf and Basketball Coach, or to be the Manager of a Basketball Training and playing facility," said Randall.

Randall graduated from Bridgewater-Emery High School where he played golf all four years and also has played college golf at Iowa Lakes Community College and at Johnson & Wales in Denver, CO. "Matt has been playing golf at a high level for a number of years and it shows in his game. He is talented and has a great knowledge and feel for the sport," stated Coach Kane.

"The golf program and very low out of state tuition attracted me to UMPI," said Randall. "With the three years of experience I have playing at the college level, I believe I can bring a lot of knowledge on course management, as well as helping my teammates get better and create great team chemistry."

The Owls Golf Team and the UMPI Community would like to welcome Matt Randall to Campus.
