Golf Team Competes at NAC Playoffs in Vermont

Waterbury, Vermont - Husson University won the North Atlantic Conference Golf Playoffs held this past weekend at The Country Club of Vermont. The University of Maine at Presque Isle Men's Team finished 11th in the 2-day Event with Michael Boone (Jr. Presque Isle) being the top finisher for the Owls as he has done consistently throughout the season. Playing conditions were not ideal for the field of golfers as chilly conditions prevailed throughout the Championship rounds in Waterbury, Vermont which were sponsored by Northern Vermont University-Johnson.

Boone carded a 92 on Saturday and a 94 on Sunday for his 2-day total of 186 which placed him in an overall tie for the 36th spot in the NAC Playoffs. Jack Bates was UMPI's second golfer in with a 98-93-191, good for a 47th place finish for the weekend. 

Daniel Christy of SUNY Delhi was the overall individual Champion shooting a 75 on Saturday and a 73 on Sunday for a 2-day total of 148 to best the NAC field. Coming in a close 2nd was Taylor Morang of Husson University, who tied with Justin Serowik of Salem State University, both with a weekend total of 150. Gavin Douglas of Husson who was at the top of the Leaderboard after the 1st day finished 6th for the Champion Eagles with a 72-83-155.

Husson finished with a Team total of 619, followed by SUNY Delhi at 622, Salem State with a score of 634, Castleton State at 668, NVU-Johnson 674, SUNY Canton 675, UMF 682, Thomas College 703, MMA 708, Massachussetts College 777 and UMPI at 849.
