Owls Leave Canton 0-2 on the Weekend

Canton, NY – The UMPI Owls men's basketball team finished their North Atlantic Conference road trip to upstate New York, as they played their second game in two days vs SUNY Canton Roos. The Owls slow start set them back in a big way, and eventually losing 85-67.

The Owls seemed to be worn out from the long road trip and the double overtime game yesterday. The Roos took full advantage, going on a 24-4 run in the first nine minutes of the game. From then on the game continued to go back and forth throughout the remainder of the game, as the Owls had no answer to the Roos hot shooting, finishing 50% from the field and over 45% from the three.

The Owls were led by Griffin Guerrette (So. Presque Isle, ME) as he finished with 24 points while going a perfect 7-7 from the freethrow line. Shyquinn Dix (Jr. Stamford, CT) finished with a big game despite an off shooting night, Dix finished with nine points, nine rebounds, five assists and six steals.

The Owls will head back to Presque Isle with a quick turnaround. Hosting NAC opponent Thomas College this Wednesday at 7:30PM.
