MULES GROUND OWLS

WATERVILLE, Maine ---  Colby College shot 52.2% from the field and 44% from beyond the arc to take a 101-66 victory over UMaine-Presque Isle men Tuesday evening.

The Owls had five players in double figures, including 14 points on 5-for-7 shooting from Michael Warner. Claude Louis had 13 points, four assists, and three steals. Chase Vicaire scored 12 points, while Derek Healy and Thiago Conceicao both had 10 points.  Healy dished out 4 assists and had 4 steals and Conceicao added 4 blocked shots to his team leading total of 36.

Connor O'Neil had a solid all-around game with 21 points, seven rebounds, and six assists to lead the Colby attack. Colby center Chris Hudnut also had 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting, pulled down eight rebounds, and had two steals.  O'Neil shot 6-for-9 from the field, 4-for-6 from 3-point range, 5-for-6 from the foul line, had two steals, and just one turnover. 

Colby opened up a 17-3 lead after just 4:29 of action. The Mules led by as much as 21 points at 28-8 with 12:27 to go before Presque Isle chipped away at the lead. The Owls were able to get the lead to 14 points at the break.

Warner scored a bucket off of a Sean Manganti assist to cut Colby's lead to 12 points at 50-38 with 18:34 left in the game, but the Mules went on a 12-0 run to put the game away moments later. 

Colby, which won seven games a year ago, moves to 13-9 overall heading into Friday's 8 p.m. NESCAC game at Tufts University. Maine-Presque Isle falls to 8-14 overall and will end the Owl season at UMaine-Machias Thursday evening.
