
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Daris Cosby finished with a game-high 21 points and teammate John Hickson added 16 to lead the Daniel Webster College men's basketball team to a 74-63 win over University of Maine at Presque Isle on the first day of the Colby College Classic on Friday night.
Daniel Webster (2-2 overall) will play Colby in the championship game at 3 p.m. Saturday. UMPI (2-3) will take on Fisher College in the consolation game at 1 p.m. Colby took a 70-63 win against Fisher in the other game Friday.
Ryan Gauthier added 11 points, a team-high eight rebounds, and six assists for Daniel Webster, which shot 50 percent (14-for-28) from 3-point range. David Feinstein finished with nine points and four assists for the winners.
Claude Louis (Jr./Union, NJ) had 20 points and a game-high nine rebounds for the Owls. Aaron Hutchins (Jr./East Millinocket, ME) added 13 points and three assists, while Michael Warner (Jr./Norwich, UK) had 10 points and four assists.
UMPI led 29-21 with 8:03 left in the first half, but Daniel Webster went on a 20-0 run to take a 41-29 lead. The Eagles led 43-31 at halftime and managed to control the second half.
