Manifold Named to AD3I 2nd Team

(PRESQUE ISLE, ME) -- University of Maine-Presque Isle center Patrick Manifold (Jr./Great Yarmouth, UK) has been named to the Association of NCAA Division III Independents' "All-Independent Team" for the 2011-2012 season.  It is the second straight year that the UMPI junior has made the 2nd team.

Manifold led his Owls in scoring and rebounding this season averaging 16 and 8 respectively.  The soft-spoken englishman flourished under the tutelage of first year UMPI coach Jim Casciano, putting together monster games like a 24-point, 18-rebound performance at the University of Maine-Machias on January 25th and a 21-point, 15-rebound outing at the University of Maine-Fort Kent on February 7th.

Possibly his best performance came on January 15th in a win over the University of Maine-Augusta.  On that day, Manifold hit 11-15 shots from the floor en route to a career-high 30 point performance.

"I am honored to be named to the AD3I All-Independent team and am extremely thankful for the recognition," said Manifold, "I would like to thank my coach Jim Casciano and all of my teammates, as without them this would not have been possible."
