Owls Hit 3's But Fall to Polar Bears

BRUNSWICK, ME (12-3-11) -- Despite hitting 12 three-pointers on Saturday afternoon, the UMPI men's basketball team dropped a 96-66 decision at Bowdoin College.  The Polar Bears shot 60.9% from the field to offset the three's however as the Owls move to 2-3 on the young season.

Patrick Manifold (Jr./Great Yarmuth, UK) led all players with 21 points for the Owls, while Kyle Corrigan (Jr../Caribou, ME) (11) and Gerardo Vasquez (Jr./Houston, TX) (10) also reached double figures for Presque Isle.

Bowdoin carried a 43-33 edge into the break but the Owls were able to stay within striking distance thanks to the hot outside shooting. UMPI was out-rebounded 45-21 however, including 15-8 on the offensive glass resulting in 21 Polar Bear second-chance points.
