Owls Welcome Mark Valente to UMPI

Presque Isle, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls welcome Mark Valente, the UMPI Baseball commit will join the Owls family fall of 2022. A California native, Valente will look to major in Special Education while at UMPI.

Valente played multiple positions at his high school, Escalon High School in Oakdale, California, Playing first, third and pitching for his team under their head coach Greg Largent. "Mark Valente is a student of the game of baseball…always looking to improve his skills, and usually the first one to practice and the last one to leave." Said coach Largent when asked about Valente.

"I am excited to become an Owl. I have always wanted to play college baseball and I am honored to have the opportunity." Said Mark. UMPI Head coach, Roger Stinson shares his enthusiasm for his first commit of the 22-23 season. "I am truly excited to bring Mark into our program.  I believe he can come in, give us some extra defense to our infield, and bring a solid bat to the line-up. I am hoping we will be able to also excel on the mound for us as a reliever."
