Presque Isle, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls Baseball team welcomes Scott Dorn to the team and the University. Dorn is a transfer out of North Atlantic Conference opponent Husson University, where he played football in his first year there. Dorn is originally from Kiel, Wisconsin. Although, he spent time in Maine before attending Husson, as he attended Mattanawcook Academy during his high school years.
The UMPI head coach, Roger Stinson is excited to bring in one of his long time recruits. "I am looking forward to seeing Scott back in a baseball uniform and even more in the Owls colors. I recruited Scott back in HS but he was looking at playing football in which he was a standout there too, I am excited to see what he will bring to our team from all standpoints." Stinson continued to talk about the third baseman's talent, "He has a solid glove on the corner and I know once he gets back in baseball mode his bat will be a solid addition to our roster. Truly excited to have another former MA (Mattanawcook Academy) alum to coach!"
Dorn's former coach at Mattanawcook Academy, Ryan Libby spoke briefly on his character. "Scott Dorn is a great teammate, very dependable and will give you everything he has. Very enjoyable to be around and will always keep the team laughing." Dorn will look to major in Accounting while playing baseball.
The University of Maine at Presque Isle and all of the Owls on the baseball team and the athletic department welcome Ryan Libby to the 2021-22 Baseball Roster.
