Presque Isle, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle men's baseball team hosted their first home game in five years on Homecoming weekend, last Sunday. The Owls faced Central Maine Community College in two 7-inning games. The Owls won the first 9-2 and lost the second 8-5 in the Owls day of competition for Fall Ball. Baseball Alumni Tim Olore threw out the first pitch of the day on Homecoming Weekend.
Will Stinson started on the mound earning the win for UMPI, pitching a complete game with 83 pitches giving up two runs and batting 4-4 at the plate, three singles, a double and two RBI's. Freshman outfielder Payton Jones was 2-4 at the plate with an RBI, sophomore transfer Nick Perfit also went 2-4 and two RBI's. Joey Blake and Alex Graham both went 2-4 in the first game as well.

The second game, with Perfit starting on the mound, the Owls gave up three runs early. UMPI would answer, early in the game with five runs themselves. Braydon Kennedy would come in on the mound, with a 5-3 lead for the Owls. Shutting the Mustangs out in the fifth inning, CMCC would take the lead in the sixth. Perfit led the Owls on the offensive end, hitting 3-3 at the plate with two RBI's. Freshman Chris Garza was 2-3 in his debut.
