The final two baseball games of the Owl's 2015 season will take place at historic Old Orchard Beach Ballpark on Saturday, May 2.
The doubleheader will pit Lesley College against the Owls, with the first pitch at 4pm.
The Ballpark was the home park for the Maine Guides of the triple A International league from 1984 to 1987 and has hosted concerts by musical greats such as Aerosmith, Phish and Bob Dylan.
After a time of inactivity, the local community came together to refurbish the Ballpark and allow the community to enjoy baseball at a high quality, professional grade facility once again in 2009. The Ballpark is the new home to the Old Orchard Beach Surge of the East Coast Baseball League, a high "A" independent professional league boasting 6 teams. It is the newest independent baseball league in North America.
The nightcap of the doubleheader will feature Presque Isle lone senior, Ghaz Sailors pitching her last collegiate game for the Owls. Sailors, the only woman playing NCAA baseball is slated to play professional baseball for the Virginia Marlins of the World Baseball Pro League in beginning in June.
