22-Hit Attack Leads Owls to 12-0 Blanking of EMCC
(BANGOR, ME) -- The University of Maine-Presque Isle baseball team came out swinging in a 12-0 win on Saturday over Eastern Maine Community College. The Owls pounded out 22 hits in the game that improved their overall record this season to 7-20. The Eagles fall to 3-11.
The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday (11am / 1pm).

As impressive as the Owls were at the plate, starter Jake Fillebrown (Sr./Stoneham, ME) was just as dialed in on the mound. In one of his most dominant outings as a collegiate athlete, Fillebrown threw 7 innings of shutout ball, allowed a mere 2 hits, struck out a season-high 11 Golden Eagle batters, and walked only 2. The win was his third of the season.
There were many offensive stars to choose from on this day for the Owls who had 12 different batters reach via basehit. C Alex Csiernik (Jr./Hamilton, Ontario) went 3-3 with four RBI's, a season-high. Csiernik also walked once to raise his team high total on free passes to 15.
SS Jordan Duffy (Sr./Fort Augustus PEI, Canada) was 3-4 with a double and 4 runs. LF Tanner Marshall (Fr./Cleburne, TX) was 3-3 with 2 runs and 2 RBI. DP Daniel Lewis (Jr./Gardner Mines, NS) finished 2-3, knocking in a trio of runs from the clean-up spot.
1B Carlos Villoria (Sr./Caracas, Venezuela) scored 3 times while going 2-4 from the plate. It was the 12th multi-hit game for the senior this season. He leads Presque Isle with a .363 batting average.
When all was said and done, the 1-5 hitters in the Owls' order had produced 11 hits and scored 11 runs.
