Carlos Villoria (Sr./Caracas, Venezuela) singled to lead off the top of the 4th inning for the Owls, the only hit they could muster against starter Christopher O'Hare and three Falcons' relievers. Game 2: Fisher 4, UMPI 0
WP: Tangerlini (4-3)
LP: Bartlett (0-3)
Game two began as a tremendous pitcher's dual between the Falcons' John Tangerlini and the Owls' Andrew Bartlett (Fr./Damariscotta, ME) . Through the first 5 innings, both hurlers had only given up one hit each. After Tangerlini handled Presque Isle in the top of the 6th, Fisher finally got to Bartlett in the bottom half.
After a single, an error, and walk loaded the bases with nobody out, Yuliano Rodriguez landed the big blow of the game in the form of a bases clearing triple. He would come around to score one batter later on a wild pitch.
UMPI managed to load the bases with two outs in the top of the 7th but were unable to push any runs across.
Tangerlini pitched a complete game, one-hitter, walking 3 and struck out 5. Bartlett also threw a complete game, gave up only 3 hits in the loss, and struck out 3.
