Delaware Valley Tops Owls, 11-4

(DOYLESTOWN, PA) -- Delaware Valley College baseball took advantage of six University of Maine-Presque Isle errors to score seven unearned runs and beat the Owls, 11-4 on Monday afternoon.  DVC moved to 9-10 on the season while Presque Isle fell to 3-11.

After three innings, the Aggies were already up 8-2, with five tallies being of the unearned variety.

Andrew Bartlett (Fr./Damariscotta, ME) started and took the loss for the Owls.  Bartlett pitched 2 innings, gave up 6 hits and 6 runs (3 earned), walked 2 and struck out one.  Anthony Batchelder (Sr./West Enfield, ME) followed Bartlett and pitched 3.1 innings.  Batchelder surrended four hits and four runs (only 1 earned), and struck out 4.

Owls 1B Carlos Villoria (Sr./Caracas, Venezuela) continued his hot hitting at the plate going 4-4 with a double and 2 RBI.  Villoria now has 11 hits in his past 5 games.  He is hitting .647 in that stretch and is now at .400 for the season.

Presque Isle continues its spring break road trip Tuesday at Rowan (NJ) University (11-6).  The single game will begin at 3:30pm.  Live stats will be available through the Rowan website.
